Not a "gluten free menu" persay but their crepes can be made out of buckwheat flour which is gluten free. My wife has Celiac's and was able to eat them.
Yes
Yes there is. Ask the servers
This is THE place for crepes. The variety of crepes for the main course is absolutely amazing. They are large and served with a salad. If you have room afterwards, you can follow up with a dessert crepe. My only complaint the is that there were too many customers for the two waiters and the chef to handle, so service was a bit slow and ordered items were forgotten.
At first, the host was being so slow, and didn’t greet us with a table as she was free! The restaurant wasn’t even full at the moment. Then we waited an hour for our food, yes an hour! I wouldn’t expect it would take that long for a brunch? So i needed to pay an extra half an hour for my parking, how I realized I was there for an hour without having my food served. Completely speechless, a table came after us and got their food before we did.
My friend and I came here for a lunch on a weekday, and we snagged the last outdoor table. We were given menus, and a bit later, our orders were taken. Our waters were also very rapidly refilled, which I appreciated because we were both quite thirsty as it was a hot day. I got a crepe with an egg sunny side up, cheese, and grilled vegetables, and this came with a bowl of salad too which was fresh and tasty. The grilled vegetables were delicious and full of flavor, very well cooked. The crepe was quite crispy although it was a bit thin, and the cheese and egg were fine. Service was friendly and prompt. The crepe came out to be around 15 CAD post-tax which is on the high side, but the quality was quite good!
We tried the specialty crepes. They were amazing. Full of flavor food with character and texture. My recommendation is to try the duck crepes and ask for a side of sauteed mushrooms. Don't forget the onion soup, best we ever had in Canada. The background music was a bit dark sometimes but we came for the food anyway. Good restaurant choice for an evening after walking the city.
Outstanding crepes served up with a smile. The waitstaff was welcoming and helpful with tips about their menu and Quebec City. Both the savory and sweet crepes are outstanding. Eating on the sidewalk is fun but getting a table by the open windows is great too.
Great place! Excellent coffee, bilingual servers and savory buckwheat crepes that are gluten free. Can substitute the dessert (flour) crepes for the buckwheat ones as well. They were delicious and our server was lovely!
We decided to visit after seeing previous reviews. So glad we did! We had both savory and sweet crepes. Everything was great. I ordered the local cheese platter to start. It was pretty avg.The lemon curd crepe was delicious! Definitely try!
Good view but poor service. We were seated quickly but most everything else took more time than expected, including waiting quite some time after asking for the check, even as a line went out the door waiting for free tables. Really felt more like a neighborhood pub that people discovered had good food over a restaurant.
A cozy place to enjoy some decent crepes. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Tried the buckwheat crepe with duck. Salad was fresh. The chocolate crepe was rich with some caramel sauce a little heavy but I mean it's chocolate & it was great!)Forgot what the drink is but it's probably an Apple cider flavored beer recommended by the lady. Refreshing and worked pretty well with the crepes. Ideal spot for having long chat with my friend when she charged her dying phone. Highly recommend it.
My girlfriend and I had the ham and cheese crepe. Very dry. The cheese just tasted like salt and the ham was flavorless. Honestly, I could have easily cooked it myself and it would have tasted better and I'm a really average cook.
Crepe restaurant close to old Quebec. Their savory crepes are made from buckwheat flour and are absolutely delicious. They are also served with a green salad on the side. The menu features so many different combinations of flavors that it’s really hard to choose what to eat, but I was very satisfied with everything I ordered. Service was very friendly and the wait wasn't long. I definitely recommend this place if you are looking for eating some crepes.
The house terrine and cassoulet were excellent. Local cider and a crepe to top off a nice evening.
I had the classic crepe with maple syrup here - but the recommended items are the desserts (chocolate mousse, and lemon courd). Everything we had (all sweet) were excellent. I ate it up very quickly. Great service and all around great experience. Come here for a crepe or if you have a sweet tooth!
Excellent little place. Outstanding service and awesome cidres. Savory crepes are Buckwheat, sweet crepes are flour. Both are delicious.
Best place in Quebec city for crepes. Reasonably priced and the staff are friendly and speak both English and French. Came here twice whilst visiting Quebec. Highly recommend for tourists.
Really good crepes in a nice setting. Both of the crepes we ordered were well prepared and comforting. Especially intrigued at the poached pear that came on when of them, as it wasn't an option that I expected them to have! If you're going to get crepes in Quebec City, and I definitely would, this is a great place to go.
Waited almost an hour for crepes and a piece of cake. We asked at about 45 minutes how much longer and were told that the cake just took a little while because it was made to order. Then we were told afterward that the cook had lost the order so it hadn’t even been started yet. We ended up cancelling the cake order because it was gonna take too long. Crepes were fine, if you’re gonna get one splurge for one of the specialty ones as the basic ones were quite basic.
OMG! Best Crepes I have ever had in my life! And Claude was awesome! We are already planning to come back for dinner tomorrow!
Great food, great atmosphere, and great staff. This place is one of my favorites in all of Quebec City. The French onion soup is the best I’ve ever had, I recommend this to anyone. The location is great and surrounded by many shops, and is next door to a beautiful church. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone staying in Quebec City.
The food was good but the service was extremely slow!!! We waited for more than 30 min to be seated and around one hour to get the food. The place was full and there were only two people serving. The servers were friendly yet not fully attentive of all of their costumers. Some more servers and faster chefs would be recommended.
My friend told me this was the best place to get crepes in Quebec, and she was right !! This place is delicious ! It’s so good that we ate at Le Billig both nights of our two day trip! 10/10 amazing.
I am not a big fan of crepes... I mean they are fine but would not say I'm an expert. My husband and I came with and an open mind but if you're a big fan of crepes, this review isn't for you. Spot was clean. Staff friendly. Although, they said we could sit outside, no one came for 15 minutes. We came back in and were served quickly. I had a vegetarian crepe with blue cheese, my husband had a potato something. Both were good, but I think both too rich. After eating half, I was good... I would have been happy with smaller crepes for a cheaper price.Did not try a dessert crepe because the main was so rich. Would recommend but not sure if this spot is for me.
Absolutely loved this place! The service was wonderful and the food was fantastic! We were there for breakfast and I gotta say this place is on a different level. Real Brittany style buckwheat crêpes (done perfectly in my opinion). I wish I could have breakfast there every day.
Fantastic experience. Friendly staff and food so delicious words cannot even describe!
Went here last year and I enjoyed their savoury crepes so much! Can't wait to come back in a few days to try their other crepes!
An awesome place with excellent food and service!
The savory crepes were excellent, but the sweet crepes just outstanding. Service was friendly, and all the staff spoke English as well as French. I would go out of my way to eat there again.
Amazing crepes, we got the blood sausage and the chorizo. Both were outstanding. Service was amazing. I got a glass of kerisac to go with my crepe (that's typical Brittany cider) it was really good. They have a decent selection of beers on tap as well. Would definitely recommend this place if you're a fan of galettes and crepes.
This restaurant was one of our best finds of our Quebec trip. We were searching for a nice French restaurant which specialized in crepes. And this one was just perfect and the prices were quite reasonable too. The service was excellent. Our server went out of the way to explain the items on the menu to us and helped us in picking the right items. This is a small, quaint place which makes you feel very warm and welcome.
Made to order lunch... absolutely awesome... and the wait staff were so fun with an amazing sense of humor. Excellent visit!
Came to The Billig for lunch. The view is great and there are a lot of great menu options. Unfortunately, the service was poor. The wait staff had switched while we were there and we ended up waiting about an hour for food and they forget something on the order. The crepes and the dessert order were great and it was one of the best meals we had in Quebec City.
EAT HERE! Oh man. This place blew me away. The ice cider is insane, the French onion soup was amazing then the crepes. Oh man the crepes. You will love it. The service is really good and they speak fluent English and French.
Crepes were all excellent. A cozy establishment with helpful staff. Recommend making reservations for more than two as it is quite busy.
The best crepe I've ever had in my life.
Love the crepes! We go to this place whenever we are in Quebec City. This is the best crepe I have ever tried, they make them with buckwheat and tastes really good. So many vegetarian options on the menu too is a plus. You cannot go wrong with anything you order here. Even the desserts are yummy and a must have when eating here. Only downside here is the extra wait time to get a table but I guess that’s because it’s popular and people like to wait for this. Definitely recommend this!!
We had dinner here because we were looking for somewhere lighter and less expensive than our original restaurant choice and we are so glad we did.The crepes were excellent, but the cassoulet was to die for. They also had an excellent selection of hard ciders and the service was impeccable. Despite only being in Quebec City for a few days, we will probably return again this evening.
You come there for crepes and this is what you'll find, they are pretty good. As far as i know in 2 years their cuisine has remained the same.Good service.Would recommend!
I wanted to ordered the French onion soup, but it’s not available in the summer time. Only cold soup. Ordered a ham & spinach crepe, quality of ham is good but salty. The smoked salmon Benedict crepe is also good but the quality of the smoked salmon isn’t, too salty. The hazelnut crepe for dessert was yummy.
Yummy crepes and hot chocolate. We came here on our last night in Quebec City and were not disappointed. If you have a sweet tooth, I would recommend this place! Also, it was extra warm and cozy in the winter time with the fire place.
This is just the BEST eggs benedict crepe I’ve ever had. I had the smoked salmon one. The holadaise sauce, the salmon, the eggs, everything is just perfect. The staff were really friendly and helped me to choose the best cider from Quebec. The cheeses as the appetizers were just amazing. Everything went really good!
Was so good that we returned the next day and my husband suggested to come every day of our vacation😊
Went for breakfast/lunch. Had savory buckwheat crepes. Tasty and filling. Service was a little slow (understaffed). Courteous and kind. Food was good.
Found this place by accident and I'm so glad I did! I had a really good lunch, staff was very friendly! Not too many tourists as it is the beginning of the Saint-Jean street downtown which was good. Not at all crowded. A lot of their crepes are made of buckwheat so gluten-free friendly. Very friendly place, will definitely go back!!
A short walk out of the old city is definitely worth it especially if you like buckwheat crepes. They also have regular wheat flour too. I always have the savory crepes but the sweet crepes also look amazing. We always bring new people and everyone loves it.Super good food! Great wait staff! Be sure to make a reservation during tourist season or prepare for a long wait! Creme brûlée crepe is mouth watering! Wild mushroom, spinach and lemon curd (yes, lemon curd!) was a refreshing twist for a vegetarian crepe! Yum!
Had lunch here on a Saturday afternoon. Service was very friendly, fast and the buckwheat crepe and café au lait were awesome. Although they have a number of gluten-free options, they do not have dedicated utensils or places to cook gluten free crepes. This seemed to be a challenge to find in QC.
Loved it! Ate here two nights in a row. Who does that? Well that's just how good it is. I have a new found love for crepes. I recommend this place.
Savoury or Sweet the crepes here have fantastic flavours textures and freshness. Very reasonable prices. Open until late. Crepe quality was the best we've had in Canada. We came back for different offerings and always left impressed.
We all ordered savory crepes here and they were fantastic. The restaurant is a bistro style and very cozy, our waiter was friendly and attentive (He walked outside to show me where to buy the cider he'd served and I'd enjoyed so much.) The crepes were buckwheat flour based and were delicious, and the ingredients were fresh and well prepared. They were filling but not overly so and no one ingredient overpowered the others. I would highly recommend this place and would go again.
We tried four different crepes and they were all fantastic. The service was excellent, and they had a great selection of drinks. The rest of the menu looked amazing, it was hard choosing just four. I would definitely visit again if in the area. FYI Parking is a little tough to find, so take public transit, Uber, or bike if you can. We were lucky to find a spot on the hilly back streets behind the place, but this was during a non-busy time.
Went for breakfast, which is served on buckwheat crepes. I really enjoy the ham to be found in Quebec City restaurants—torn pieces of salty, meaty goodness. My ham, cheese and mushroom crepe was tasty and not overstuffed nor overbearing. The coffee was good, though not as strong as I usually associate with espresso, but a couple cups did me good. Friendly service, especially since I had to try this place twice, the first time proving too busy, and I was immediately recognized from my previous attempt.
